Five Places Where You Should Never Store Chocolate Bars

No matter where you go, people love their chocolate bars. For some, dark chocolate is the way to go while for others, milk chocolate is the flavor of choice. Regardless, how many of us have stored chocolate bars in place which seemed completely reasonable at the time, but turned out to be a disaster later on?

To help you avoid your own chocolate disaster we've listed below five places where you should never store your chocolate bars.

1. On Top of the Refrigerator - The top of the refrigerator is an easy place to throw things in most American households. Little do most of realize that refrigerators produce an awful lot of heat - especially as the ambient air temperatures increase. If you store your chocolate on top of the refrigerator you're just asking for it to melt.

2. In Your Purse - Ladies, we know that your purses can store everything from your credit cards to the kitchen sink. But it's not a good idea for your chocolate bars. Imagine the ugly scene that would result if you set your purse on the table at a curbside café, while enjoying a cup of coffee with the cute guy from 3B, only to discover that the sun turned your chocolate bar into a gooey, sugary, purse-destroying mess.

3. In Your Sport Coat Pocket - Men, we are just as guilty when we throw our chocolate bars in the breast pocket of our sport coats. It may seem innocuous, but if you're a typical guy who puts off a lot of heat, putting a chocolate bar in your breast pocket could be an extremely expensive mistake. As one of our past presidents used to quip, "Just say no."

4. Your Dresser Drawer - If you have dogs you should by no means store your chocolate bars in your dresser drawer. Chocolate can be very hazardous to your dog's health even though he may be too dumb to realize it. And don't forget that dogs are also very resourceful. One whiff of your chocolate and your dog will do everything within its power to locate and consume it. A good rule of thumb is to never assume chocolate is out of the reach of your dog unless it's higher than he can jump.

5. At the Office - Many chocoholics like to keep a couple of pieces of candy in strategic places around the office. While that may be a good idea, in so much as it means you always have chocolate bars handy, it's a bad idea the first time one of your coworkers sees you snacking. From that point on your chocolate will be marked; you'll never find a safe place to keep it hidden from snooping eyes. If you must have chocolate work you're better off bringing one piece with you (as long as it's not in your purse or breast pocket) and consuming it before going home. chocolate bars
